The Select Series is Heating Up after Week 6 Action!

Recap of Week 6 of the Select Series: Leaderboards, Games Recaps, Top Performances, & More.

The North Select Series was back in action this weekend up at Sterlington Sports Complex while the 14u AAA returned to Zachary Youth Park. These kids were no short of entertaining, and they made for some great youth baseball games and movements in the GameChanger leaderboards!

• Hunter Lanoux and Noah Landry rally together for Baton Rouge Dirtbags (Yellow) to throw a no-hitter in their 11-3 win over Louisiana Kings (Orange). Combined they threw 4.0 innings and tallied 9 strikeouts. The Dirtbags' bats were hot too, totaling 10 hits in the game. Grant Gautreau led the way with 2 hits while 8 other Dirtbag plays each tallied a hit. The Dirtbags totaled 3 extra base hits and drove in 9 runs.

• Team Louisiana North Monroe 13u took the lead late and defeated Twin City Captains - Gill 13u 7-6 on Sunday. Team Louisiana North Monroe 13u was down 6-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning when they nothced 7 runs & took the lead on Hunter Robinson's sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs. Team Louisiana managed to hold on to their lead in the last inning to defeat the Captains. Xorian Robinson toed the rubber for Team Louisiana North Monroe 13u. The pitcher allowed zero hits and three runs over two and a third innings, striking out four. James Ingram led Team Louisiana North Monroe 13u with two hits in two at bats as well as 5 other Team Louisiana players tallying a hit. The Captains took advantage of walks and errors to jump ahead of Team Louisiana early. Evan Lirette and Marshall Bowen each tallied a hit for the Captains.

• Twin City Captains - Zapata 12u seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off double at the end of the game to topple Knights Knation Northeast Jones 12u. The game was tied at 13 with Twin City Captains - Zapata 12u batting in the bottom of the fourth when Caldrin Walker doubled, scoring two runs. This game saw a combined 28 runs and 28 hits (13 extra-base hits). Twin City Captains - Zapata 12u collected 15 hits. Ryan Waits, Kade Brookshire, and Ethan Mandigo all managed multiple hits for Twin City Captains - Zapata 12u. Knights Knation Northeast Jones 12u totaled 13 hits in the game. Clark Brown, Blake Pierce, Kendall Ford, Braxton May, and Jacob Turner all managed multiple hits for Knights Knation Northeast Jones 12u. Clark led Knights Knation Northeast Jones 12u with three hits in three at bats.

• It came down to the wire on Sunday, with Twin City Captains - Gillam 11u taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their victory over LA Havok 11u. The game was tied at six with Twin City Captains - Gillam 11u batting in the bottom of the fifth when Roy Flores singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Twin City Captains - Gillam 11u earned the victory despite allowing LA Havok 11u to score five runs in the fourth inning. LA Havok 11u's big inning was driven by singles by Jenson Hurley and Brayden Brown and an error on a ball put in play by Tyler Gix.  Twin City Captains - Gillam 11u tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Mason Pavlick, Cooper Smith, and Graham Gordy each had RBIs in the big inning. Tanner Henley led Twin City Captains - Gillam 11u with two hits in three at bats. LA Havok 11u tallied eight hits in the game. Jenson Hurley and Ty Wilcher all collected multiple hits for LA Havok 11u.
